Default 20 most influential bass fishing lures

Pretty interesting list. I was unaware of the history of some of my favorite baits. I'm not sure if I agree with all 20 but they make a pretty good case.

I personally think it's a pretty good list. They justified everything on it well and there really isn't anything on there that I could argue with. Thanks for sharing that Joe.

Great list. I knew the Creme worm would be at the top.

Thats a pretty good list but I'd have to question a couple of their choices. The Zoro Aggrivator spinnerbait may have been the one used in the first Classic and had big names behind it, But I would think they would have gone with the first safetypin style spinnerbait that spawned the whole spinnerbait craze. I remember Virgil Ward making a single bladed spinnerbait called the Tarantula made by Bass Buster Lures famous in his tv shows. Also, I was suprised that Delong Lures wasn't put on the list in place of Creme. Delong made the original plastic worms back in 1946. They started the worm craze and generations grew up throwing those worms. Creme was right there too as well, but had it not been for Delong, I don't know that we ever would have heard of Creme.

Cool list for sure. I definitely had a feeling the jelly worm would be up there.

Looks like half the list are baits from the last 10 years or so... I'm sure there's a few more old ones that have had a bigger impact. The pork frog should be up top of that list and not down at 20-25. It's been used for over 100 years to catch bass. Think of all the different jig trailers that have been made over the years.

It's a pretty well thought out list, and balanced, as far as attack goes. f you had a tackle box with only those 20 in it, I bet you'd do just fine in almost any situation.

I was never a fan of the "Sluggo", that bait never produced a fish for me. I do like some of the other Lunker City lures, but not the Slug. Most of the lures are "innovative" to the sport of fishing. I was looking for an in-line spinnerbait, like the Mepps - 50 years ago (crap, 50 FREAKIN' years, half a dadgum century) when I was a lad we all had those in-line spinnerbaits in our tackle pack and they caught fish (and still do).
