Default Preventive care?

Well, next month marks the 1 year anniversary of me having my new (to me) boat. The boat is an 85 bass tracker with a 75 Hp Merc. The one caveat is that the engine was modified from a prop to a jet.

I have not had any real issues with the boat other than a learning curve and would just as soon keep it that way.
The boat is in San Diego and sees water 3-4 times a month so it doesn't get winterized. It has sat unused for a max of 3 weeks any given time.
I had gotten it from a trusted friend and have the paperwork from the last tune up which was done at BPS about 18 months ago.
So the question is?

What should I be doing as preventive care on the motor?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say nothing. I get mine winterized every year - they change the oil and fog the engine. In the spring I put new plugs in it and go. This year I will change the impeller but that's about it.

I would also check with the local Merc mechanic and see what they have to say.

Really just the basics, Cass. New plugs, new water pump/impeller, and new fuel filter. Do this about once a year, or a little more often if you feel like it or use the boat a lot, and the motor will last for years and years.

The best preventative care I can think of is let me have it...
