Default Anyone from Mn. or nw Wi. ?

Just wondering if anyone lives in either area. I am a few miles north of the Twin Cities. I fish a lot in the Siren-Spooner area.

I live in Owatonna, but my wife and I have a cabin 4.5 hours NW of there in the Park Rapids area...Lake Belle Taine near Nevis, MN to be exact. I do 100% of my MN fishing on Belle Taine, and every now and then I venture down to northern IA to fish near where my parents live.

Welcome to the site!

Anybody know anything about fishing near La Crosse? I am going to be making my journey back east in about 3 weeks, and was thinking about maybe spending a few hours hitting the mississippi in south minnesota on the way back (well, kinda the way back, its a dogleg).

Kinda thinking about pike and muskies...any up there? Smallies?

WTL, born and raised there, went to college there and started my carrer there. If your coming from the East theres a highyway that follows the Mississippi thru Mn. basically at the start of it in the cities but alot of places to get on. Fishing along. Bass Camps, great guides its a fishermans dream. It's a power supply river so alot of Dams and dams make lakes. Frankly even if you weren't wanting to fish the road and the drive may be the prettiest drive in the country.
Dresbach, Mn (acrosse the river from LaCrosse has a dam). I was just up there for the Pro Tourney.

Hey Joe, I'm actually coming from the west, all the way across southern Minnesota, and I will be heading due south once I get to La Cross, through Iowa, following the river down. Or thats the plan.

There's a lot of pike, smallies, and largemouth. The scenery on the river is awesome here. There's a lot of backwater, rock piles, islands, and vegetation here. If you can go during the week and there will be very few boats out compared to the weekend.
