Folks in Texas
Well you folks don't do anything small down there do you. I just read about the explosion at the BP refinery. I hope all of you are safe, and I will pray for the victims and their families. Sounds like a BIG blast, and damage. Hope all of you and families were well away from it.

Re: Folks in Texas
Yeah, it was a big blast. Texas City has a lot of refineries and chemical plants. Back in the 40's I think there was an explosion that took out most of the town when a freighter loaded with ammonium nitrate or something like that blew up. My prayers go out to the victims and their families.

Re: Folks in Texas
a 5 gallon bucket ammonium nitrate will effectively dig out your basement while removing the house from it's pleasent location-think wizard of oz -a freighter full would pretty much relocate a small town very efectivly.
nah never messed with the stuff ever zooker

Re: Folks in Texas
Lizards,
Thanks, for the concern. We are many many many miles away from it. It is a sad thing that so many people lost their lives. I also heard there was a small fire at the same place the day before. It is very scary working around so many chemicals with that kind of reaction. Sandra |
