Fishing Sam Rayburn
Fishing on Rayburn in the past 2 month has been pretty datgum good. water has been on a slow rise since last weeks heavy rain although the damm continues releasing. We are keying on the buck brush where there is hydrilla close by. we have been concentrating on the mid lake area between veach basin and shirley creek, trying to find those out of the way places that are usually passed up or are so hard to get to some think they are not worth attempting. Our main go to bait has been a water melon super fluke fished weightless. We are not working this bait but letting it drift down and sit till you can not stand it any more. I think alot of people are having luck fishing the senko in a simular fashion. Alot of our fish are still being caught in 1 to 3 foot of water not just short fish but solid 3 to 5 pounders. biggest fish have 8.60 followed by a slew of 4 to 6 pound fish.I have not fished many secondary points yet but I hear they are also starting to produce. So good luck and tight lines
