Default Weekly Lake Fork Fishing Report

I am sorry this report was late this week. I had to put my wife into the hospital and have been up there with her. She is doing better and hopeful she will get out in a day or so.
Well, the schools are almost out and the weather has cooled back down and the biggest holiday of the year is here. The weather calls for some slight chance of rain but this is a welcome sight as most have not had much rain. The fish are wet so the rain wont hurt the bite. This should kick our top water bite back into gear. Top water pop’r type baits and the zoom horny toad over and around grass and lily pads has been good. Work the horny toad up to holes or between openings in the pads and grass and slow the retrieve. Don’t forget to wait for the fish to get the bait before you set the hook. This means to feel the fish swim before you set the hook. Weightless Wave Tiki Sticks, Zoom Flukes, Lake Fork Tackle Twitch Worms, and Ring Fries fish around grass, timber, and lily pads has been good. Small baby bass and Perch colored Bandit crank baits slow reeled has been a killer.
The deep fish are starting to show up but they have not been in the same place everyday. Keep looking at the regular spots and one day they will be there. Texas and Carolina rigs along with Storm Swim baits will catch these. Fish. The fish are starting to move into there summer patterns and this is when you can set your watch to be at a certain spot and the bite should be going on.
I wish all a very Happy Memorial Holiday.
Please be safe and watch your speed and keep that seat belt on as this is for your safety. If You get on a lake watch for the other guy BUT REMEMBER YOU ARE THE OTHER GUY TO HIM.
I still have some June Dates open So Give me a call as the best fishing is just around the corner.
