Default Ducks!

Ducks landed in the pond today!

Ok, so the edge of the pond has some open water, but it attracted a couple large adult ducks to come for a swim. It was nice to see them.

It has been hitting 50-60 here lately during the day, with sun, yet there is still ice! The ice is very dark (meaning it's quite thin) but still out there.

Maybe I should take the canoe out and do some ice breaking, haha. I went to a river today and made some casts but the current was very strong at the edge, and I couldn't get in any good casts. ??? Ah well.

Here it comes!

I can't believe you guys still have ice. It has been in the 80's here for a week. Not trying to rub it in, just wondering how you deal with that. Ugh. It gets below 40 here and we start complaining about the cold.

I guess the tradeoff is when I am fishing in 105 degree heat in July/August, I will be wishing I was up there were it is somewhat cooler.

Zook...the tournament series I fish (well, did fish) starts in January. Sure, it can be cold, but ice? Not down here.

You don't know cold till you spend a month in Canada or Maine, during THEIR winter. Lone does like to do some winter sports, which is a nice addition, especially being from up there. Snow skiing can be a blast, and sitting in a hot tub, in the snow is, is pretty AWESOME also But I prefer to VISIT those places, and live where you can fish year round ;D Only problem I don't live in either place, :-/

High of 63 today.

Keep in mind that yesterday there was just a little open water on this pond.

I'd love to have a pond like that in my backyard. Thanks to urban sprwal your not going to find any unobstructed wilderness like that in central florida.

Yeah, I get what your saying. Â*Especially living in somewhere like that is sometimes a drawback. Â*But whenever I do stuff in the outdoors like go camping, I'd rather have things always be a bit risky and unsafe. Â*Sure I use reliable equipment and try to be smart about things, but its always fun when there is some risk involved. Â*You know, stuff like jumping off of waterfalls into deep pools, or swinging on ropes 30-40ft in the air, or rock climbing. Stuff that seems dangerous, but usually is really safe. Â*If you couldn't tell, I can be an adrenaline junkie petty often.

Ducks are nice but the goose poop around the lakes where i fish...yuck. The geese are nesting now, They get pretty nasty protecting their nests. But the little babies are nice to watch when the fishing is slow.

Well, i'm not exactly out in the middle of nowhere, living in a cave. We actually have yards around our houses, yards that you can do things in, and woods in between neighbors houses.

Stereotypes, stereotypes, and you probably think we all tahk real funney too, eh? Well, yeah, we do.
