The world record smallie was caught in Dale Hollow in the 50's near the Ky-Tn state line. It wieghed 11 pounds 15 oz, Not only is it the world record it also holds both states record I think.

By the way, thats a SMALLIE. I bet she fought like a champ.

There is another forum i am on called smalljaw.com. It is mainly information on smallmouth fishing at Dale Hollow Lake. That is were the world record and i think like 3 of the top 5 smallmouth ever caught came from. Float and fly is a popular tactic there. Basically they use longer 8 or 9 foot rods with a float and fly a few feet or so under it. The smalljaw forum has tons of info on it. I even asked what it was and got back websites with instructional videos.
