Default winter fishing

well it is 13 more shopping days till x-mas most of the country has settled into winter conditions. while here the water is still ok 54 it is dropping. to make matters worst we have had 3 days of rain.-oh joy- patterns are not holding up long-2 days or less-. i fished a small lake-1500 acres- saturday. caught 12 bass in peanut butter colored water. big 7.2 all bass were caught on a fat free shad in f-tiger. every one i caught was in 9-12 feet of water.
this morning after a chat with bassman30 sat night. i went to the 5300 acres of fun-badin-which bassman hates-as i have fished this very tough lake on a regular bases for the last 3 years. i had a decent idea where i could catch fish at.-actually looked up my loggs for the last 3 years-i started out fishing a large bridge that crosses a 1/2 mile of open water. caught 1 decent bass on a large crank bait. this told me 2 things, deep water, -over 20- and think summer. i switched to a large crank bait in shad color and hit my favoite house foundation. 25 feet down got 4 out of it. as the wind was blowing 30-45mph out of the west it was a diffacult to hold the boat on #5 with the trolling moter.after being blown round for a while i moved behind some land mass to fish a standing tree with a line of stumps-all under water- got 1 bass and a small flat head -2 pounds-i got run off by the invading muddy water.this lake is very clear the bass turn off during muddy water.
i than with the trolling moter on #3 fished a chunk of rip rap the wind was blowing dead in to and caught just one bass but it was a good bass-5.7- i then went on to try something differant upon seeing the feathered fish finders diving in for shad-shad being pushed up by striper normally-i worked in to a school of shad 1/4 mile square and 10 feet deep-made 1 of my depth finders lie-i was throwing a large bucktail. had a couple of hits and hung one striper 5.2 pounds -very fun on 8 pound ande-as my trolling moter battery was about drained i headed home with both the striper and the flat head in the live well.

i know for a fact bassman only got one bass on saturday. but as i told him stay a way from that grass on the 17th and 18th holes. but will he listen noo...

oh yeah lose a nother pointer i will pick it up for ya..

Where you been, lone. Haven't seen you in a while. We're feeling the cold weather in florida even. IT dropped down below freezing last night and there was a high in the low fifties today, and thats really cold by florida standards.

Hey man, does Badin have any bass in it ?
I've never lost a pointer, a Lucky Craft crankbait , yes.
I lost it on Badin. Where else.
All that I need is to know where the fish are at on your "home away from home".
I've found them on Tillery, but Badin , well I've only fished there appx. 49 times !
Maybe it was 50, heck I don't know. Too many times for me ! Go figure.
