Based on what I've seen, it only takes a couple of inconsiderate people to contaminate the rest of the people involved. I.E. wakeboarders, jet ski's, skiers etc...
While I don't do any of the above, I do try and be considerate to those who don't interfere with my activities. (bass fishing)

Ok, it's not a BASS FISHING question, but just what does it hurt? From the title, you can tell what it's about. If you don't want to read it. Don't. Seems simple enough to me.

Ok, here we go. And I'll tell you who's at fault.

Like Cajun said, the title clearly says that this is not about bass. So if you didn't want to read it, why did you click it?

This is what the purpose of the title of the post is. To let you see if you want to bother clicking it or not.

Nope, can't say that I do wakeboard, although I'd like to some time. But I wish wakeboarders didn't get in the way of fisherman all the time. I was out ina canoe on a lak once where ther was plenty of room for all boats, but some wakeboarders kept coming up and spraying us and running us into shore, we didn't catch a single fish the entire day.

Man there is nothing wrong with this kid asking a question like this. Â*Maybe he wants to get to know people a little better. Â*This site is as much about making friends as it is fishing. Â*

Alright,
let me be the first one to actually answer this question.

cilem,
last year I tried wakeboarding at Boy Scout Camp. It is by far the easiest water sport there is. You could pick up on doing it in an hour. Doing some of the tricks you might see on ESPN could take up alot more time. But, getting down the basics of it, and standing up with out falling and jumping some small boat waves is really not all that hard to do. It is fun, and you guys ever get the chance to try it, you could very easily pick up on it as fast as skiing or snowboarding.

But since your interested in what people do, I tell you my top 6 favorite things to do.

1. Golf
2. Bass Fish
3. Poker
4. Snowboard
5. Basketball
6. Pool

Sorry,
wakeboarding wasn't in there. I can't put something in there I only get to do once a year.

Also, on question:

When you're boat fishing and some people keep riding by you and making waves with their jet skiing boat, does it ever bother the fish, or do they get used to it after a while? Will it effect your fishing in any type of way?

STETS,

Yes it will effect my fishing. I will have to reel in my lure, lay down my rod, pick up my Carolina rod and bounce a 1 oz weight off that idiots head. But that is nothing compared to how it effects his jet skiing in my vicinity.

Actually in my experience it can HELP the fishing. Â*I've seen times when pleasure boat traffic of all types would stir up a mudline along a point and the bass would hold on the edge of the mudline.

When fishing pad fields I've noticed that I catch fish out of the pads when there is a lot of boat traffic. Â*My theory is the waves beating up the shoreline knock bugs and stuff into the water, the bait fish move in to feed on that, and the bass move in to feed on the the baitfish.

Same thing when wakes are crashing into rocks. Â*

There have been times when I've threated to flag down a pleasure boater and offer them 10 bucks to just ride back and forth where I was fishing.

I know I have not been on this board near as long as some others. Its is unfortunately not hard to see who is useful and who is not. You have people that post good informative information, people that ask questions, people that just respond with good information, and the others. By the others, well, I mean people that haven't posted anything even remotely informative in forever, or at least as long as I have been here. All they have done is post smart *** replies to posts over and over again. Nothing informative at all, in the least bit. If you ask me, which I know nobody did, but if you did, then I would say get rid of those people instead of the people asking legitimate questions. So what if someone asks about wakeboarding. If you don't want to read it then don't, its that simple. I have never wakeboarded, or skied, or anything else, I fish, but if thats what he likes to do then more power to him. I know fisherman hate pleasure boaters, and all that, but if you can't catch fish with a few wakes coming through, then go home. Good fishing .

Cilem, all that I'm gonna say is that Jackl has been here a lot longer than you have. You interpret what you want from that.
