I think I'd try a 3/0 Round Bend Gammy worm hook...texposed and weightless.

I was gonna start a post about the lazer trokars, they are supposed to be a new level of sharpness. I recently switched to Owner and am very impressed with the quality. I'm no expert on the larger worms, but I would think there is a limit to the size hook you would want to use. Just cause the worm is 12", doesnt mean you have to use twice as large of size as you would for a standard worm. You want the hook in the basses mouth. That is your goal. There may be a point where 9/0 (if it exists) is just too big to get in the basses mouth easily. A 6/0 might be enough.

Actually I said the wrong worm size lol. The worm is 14 inches and its made by go2baits.net. I think you are absolutely right WTL on the 6/0.

At 12 inch, I throw a 5/0. I switch to a 6/0 for 13-16, and a 7/0 for anything over 17.

i throw a good bit of 12 inchers and i throw 5/0 and if they want it you will hook em, you will always have small fish peckin the tail, definately if its a curly tail and attracts attentions

I have a big 12" black Jelly worm in my t-box that I never use. I can Texas rig it with a 6/0 pretty good. A 5/0 is too small. I don't see why you would even want to fish a plastic worm over 10" though ...

i use 5/0 owner or gammy hooks with 10 and 12" worms i texas rig them. i some times move the hook up to two inches down the worm. but if the fish are only picking up the tail and hooks sets come up empty, you should be using a smaller worm.

5/0 Owner Oversize Worm Hooks. I like the shap a lot, makes for a good hook set and weedlessness, it's not an EWG so it's not really big.
