Default trolling motor question

I know I prolly gonna catch hell for this but here goes. I just found out after looking at a bass pro mag what con and mom meant on my Tm. Than beeping said will the momentary function use batteries when in this function or only while the foot switch is engaged. I know most are probably laughing right now but I had no clue what the function or button on the foot control did until a few hours ago.

Your trolling motor will only use electricity while it is actually running.

I hope this is what you're asking, I found it difficult to understand your post.

"con" (CONSTANT) will supply power to the TM without depressing the swith on the pedal.
"mom" (MOMENTARY) you need to depress the switch on the foor pedal to engage the TM.

Yup. Same deal. "Hey, why the hell won't the trolling motor shut off?" "Must be broke." Nope, Con strikes again.

Not exactly hands or foot off, while on constant one needs to steer,I have hand control unit and often have it on low to go along a bank meaning constant,if even slower is desired I use my foot on off sw to bump it every now and then is all.

Yeh well it is what it is. That's why I still just stick my head in the water to check for fish. Can't figure out the fish finder either
