Default heres a couple of new ones for me..

i have caught alot of bass and alot of fish period on crank baits. i was fishing a tourny today caught a nice fat 2+ pounder on a +4 suspend norman today.. i was shaking the tail hooks loose when the front split ring broke the fish bounced off the deck and went into the lake.. ohhhh boy was i pissed off..

i replaced the split ring and a few hours later i caught a turtle on the same crankbait
i tell ya what they fight like mad till they get yanked off the lake floor.

Sounds like he was a fighter. Sucks it had to happen on tourney time. Consider it a down payment on a hog.

Seems like your particular crankbait has some weird mojo. I have never had the split ring break and never caught a turtle (with a lure). You managed to do both with the same bait. Interesting . . . kinda like a voodoo lure.

zoooker,

are you losing some weight? Looking pretty slim there fella. I know I'd being using a few choice words as well if I was fishing a tourney and the fish bounced back into the water, sorry to hear that. Did you manage to replace the fish with some new ones in the tourney?

That looks like it's gotta hurt. I bet any time something comes near that rattles and shakes, that turtles gonna scram!!! I'd write to the manufacturer and tell them about the ring. Maybe there have been other complaints.

Zooker, you can ignore my last post. I looked at your initial thread which mentioned that you caught the turtle after the ring broke so I guess you did keep the lure. Guess it wasn't much fun ungluing the turtle from the crankbait.

Well did you win the tournament by a split decision or is that lost by a
split decision? Sorry to hear that a small thing like that cost you a fish.
That's just not fair. I got to go. I've got a lot of lures to look over.
I hope it never happens again.
