A 6-6 MH action rod-probably an AllStar WR1, a BPS Extreme reel, and 12 lb green Trilene XL.

7' MH St Croix Legend, with a Shimano Castaic, with 30-50lb Powerpro for my Baitcaster. I like to pitch a PacaCraw. 6'6" MH St Croix with a Quantum Pulse 40 with 20lb Fireline, weightless lizard or Fluke for spinning.

7ft mh Kistler LTA with the SF Curado and 50lb. powerpro braid. I mainly use it for horny toads. 7ft. St. Croix with a Curado and 50lb. powerpro for flippin. 6ft.6in mh Airrus with the Citica (new model) with 10lb. yo-zuri for crank baits. My favorite till I broke it was the Kistler.

6'6" Lamiglas Competitor Medium action rod (8-20# line, 3/8-1 oz) 201 BSF curado, usually spooled with 30# power pro. The backbone this rod has for a low end reel is phenomenal and its sensitivity is excellent.
Because it is my all around rod, it has been used for everything from cranks to 1/8 oz buzzbaits, weightless senkos and even tubes and topwaters like skitter pops, spooks and sammies. Simply stated, this setup is a joy to wield.

I see you like the clarus rod. I enjoy using them as well. But I gotta admit that a airrus rof any action in the 6'6" or 7' model and the shimano cardiff 100 reels with PowerPro or P-Line spooled up. IMHO cant get much better than this.

I am using my new AiRRUS 6'8' baitcasting rod now with a new curado left hand retrieve, I have 15 pound Pline on the reel now, but usually use 10 or 12 pound test, and I like to use soft plastics the majority of the time, like the Tiki Stick/Senko or Zoom creature baits. I also am a big fan of scents and rattles.
My all time "go to" rig would be a BPS black floating worm rigged texas style with a 1mm rattle inside it and smeared with smelly jelly crawdad scent. ( as long as you don't live in texas, or tell anyone else, I don't mind you all using this "go to" rig of mine) |

1FastLaser...
Oh yes, I love my Clarus rod with my 201BSF, its an awsome setup... In fact, I am planning on getting another baitcasting setup, but instead of a 6'6'' rod, I was thinking about 6'10'' or even 7' (Clarus of course, maybe Crucial); Can you tell, I'm a big Shimano fan, for some reason ... But everyone, including yourself, keeps mentioning Airrus, so I need to look into that.. ~YBM |
