Default feeding the bait monkey

just ordered this reel and can't wait to get my hands on it. i have played with it in stores but haven't thrown one yet. i ordered the 4.7:1 so i can throw deep diving crankbaits with out wearing myself out as bad.

Wow, I would bet that whoever makes that reel for BPS also makes the Lew's Speed Spool. Remarkable similarity (BTW I have several of the Lew's Speed Spools and absolutely love them for deep crankin!)

i actually found a used lews speed spool at a local bait shop for $40 and thought about buying it. but the thought of buying an older used reel for $20 less than this reel didn't make much sense because this reel is so much like the lews speed spool.

and i did buy this reel mainly for deep crankbaits, although i will probably do some shallower cranking with it too.

i will let you know how i like it. and the fact that it was only $40 really tempted me to buy it. i probably should have bought it and kept it for a back up or something, looking back how hard could it have been to get $40 worth of good out of it? maybe they still have it, i might go back and check.

this is an average price of the few that are for sale at a "buy it now" price. heck, get that one for $40 and flip it !!

Default Fritts Reels

I have 2 for sale
These are very good for crank baits.
Both of mine are 5.2 to 1

Had them sold a few times but nobody sent the money order.
2 reel for 50.00 plus shipping
1 is Black and less than a year old
1 is gold and has boat rash but works very well.

Thanks
M

I wish they (the reel manufacturers and especially Shimano) would offer more low gear ratio reels that are light and left-handed.

It seems the current trend is to make high speed reels. I wonder what is next . . . an 8.1 gear ratio perhaps???

REVO WINCH - It's new & available in left hand retrieve. A tad on the expensive side, but if it's as good as the other REVO reels - this should be a great reel for crankbaits.

I have been looking at the Winch and the Daiwa Zillion 4.9 but the reels really aren't light.

That's because you are used to those Shimano Chronarch MG's - no comparison between a magnesium reel and aluminum when it comes to weight. The REVO is a good 3 oz heavier than the Chronarch and yes that would be noticable. You just might be able to change the ratio on one of those Chronarchs then you'd have your PERFECT reel............. hummmmmmmmmm.

If my revo premier was much lighter I don't think i could tell I had it in my hand.

I actually think my farts are heavier than that thing.
