Default Spinnerbait with a twist.

I was making a few spinner baits the other day for a friend of mine and myself, when I got an idea for a spinner bait/buzz bait cross over. The idea was for a general spinner bait design with a bit of modification to the wire frame, and utilizing a buzz bait blade instead of the traditional blades. The idea is to have a spinner bait that will run shallow and slow. Slowly work it over submerged weed beds, use it as a wake bait, and I know it will break surface when I want to utilize that technique, for instances when say the bass are busting shad on the surface. And it could probably be used as a buzz bait in a pinch. I could no doubt use a buzz bait for this application, but I think the head and skirt riding lower than most buzz baits will make a difference. It should ride lower than buzz baits with a similar design. Just an idea I'm going to try and wanted to share with you. Happy casting.

It's like the "Booyah" "buzzinator". They put a buzz spinner on an extra long shaft to run the "bait" part about 7 or more inches below the surface.

It works! Finally got out after taking a month off due to a very sore arm, and caught three on it. This was the first, caught on my 4th cast with the lure. Nothing huge, but it is promising. It did exactly what I wanted it to do. It ran like a spinner bait at very slow speed about 18 inches below the surface with a moderate retrieve speed. Speed it up a bit more and it would rise to run like a wake bait, and faster yet, you have a buzz bait. Looking forward to more time on the water with it. I did catch a pig this day on a jig which I'll show off in another post.

Hey Tom, glad to see ya. Yeah, it's pretty much died but a few of us are still here and hoping the others return. Issues with management, bots, and new memberships being shut down have caused some to get upset. But I'm still around.

Hey, Tom-glad to see you are still around!

Keith, I did not realize you were using that bait subsurface. That idea never occurred to me. I'm going to borrow your design and try it for myself. Thanks for the idea!
