Try a Lucky Craft Pointer 78 in American Shad, Ghost minnow, or Aurora black.
They also make a 97 with three hooks vs two on the 78.

Zoom Super Fluke and my secret one is alluringbaits.com jerk shad. When you jerk this bait it is insane the action.

lucky craft..losing one is the equivilant of burning a $20 bill for no apparent reason. they seem to work though..

my picks:
Soft Jerkbaits- Berkley Power Jerkshad in Pearl, and Glow in the Dark. Super Fluke in pearl, shad, and bubblegum pink

Hard Jerkbaits- Rapala Husky Jerk in silver, Tennessee Shad, Strike King KVD Wild Shiner in green and shad patterns, and Smithwick Suspending Rogues in Silver/Black and Firetiger. The smithwick's are a little tougher to work, they have to be tuned a little finer outta the box. The Rapala X-rap shows a lot of promise, but I never really experimented with it last year much because I always got a great crankbait bite going in the spring and just put down the hard jerkbaits.

Some good to somebody. The X-rap is the only bait I purchase from Rapala anymore. It is so effective, I wish I was the only one who had them!
