Hoosier, have you fished it?
Bassmaster Classic Champion Denny Brauer, who has filmed more than a dozen TV and video segments on Newton Lake, agrees with you.

Seeing I plan on living forever...I have no 'bucket list'. But Newton is a lake I want to fish!
So fishing stories say that you can fish a tournament load up with 6 pounders and still not even have a legal length fish in boat.
18 in. min.

I'm actually considering this trip within a couple of weeks.
This little boy is 'FLAT OUT JONESING' to be fishing!!!
Commitments may be sending me south for a short trip.

If you know this water, fish this water or any experience at all on this water, Pm me.
This thing is like 1700 acre lake with a 25 hp motor limit on it.
I swear I saw Denny in his Bass boat for one clip plus I think he and his boy did a Bauer on Bauer competition with their bass boats?
Where does a boy begin.
If spawn is on and I can find a place to 'safely' keep the kayak at night....I just may stay a week.

I always wanted to fish Lake Powell for it's unique beauty; though I'd be intimidated by all that deep water!

cb, the May 2012 issue of Bass Master has a list of the top 100 Bass Lakes.
Can probably be googled online, but I'm still on my first cup of coffee

I also saw a book on the 50 best Smallmouth lakes in Gander Mountain.
I didn't buy it, just looked to see what ones were in Michigan

Being smart Mike.
The guys from the Gander in my town get their supplies at Wally World.
Our store has nothing of value...unless it's ganders own brand. Whichever one they are using that month.
They have 10 30' aisles with fishing supplies.Half the store is clothing and footwear and a 20' aisle for boat supplies.

Literally.
Couldn't find pork trailers there last Fri.
Said they didn't carry pork.
They had every plastic Uncle Josh and Kalins carries but no pork products.

Oh.
There was ONE aisle that both sides were filled with Musky Supplies.
No Musky to fish for within two hundred miles and we live in a river town.

Was not meaning to knock you Mike, sorry if you thought that was my intentions.

I really have no lakes on my list.. Rivers however are many..
Northeast in VA
Lower Mississippi in LA
St Johns in FL
are just a few..

Lakes do not have tides so I try to avoid them.

We have fished Okeechobee, Kentucky Lake, Guntersville, Dale Hollow, Smith Mtn, Santee Cooper, Douglass (Adam) and Kerr (Adam). By far our favorite of these is Dale Hollow.

Now for our bucket list:
Lake Fork
Falcon
Lake Champlain
El Salto

Don't worry, Joe, I didn't take offense. Never even crossed my mind to be honest. Now that you mention it tho.....lol

Our Gander is pretty respectable fishing wise, probably cuz they're 10 minutes from the Grand Traverse Bay (which was listed in that book lol).

If it weren't for them, my choices would be Dunham's (pfttttttt), Wally World (which has gotten better in the last year) and MC Sports (ehhhhhh).

10 years ago I'd have to drive 45 minutes the the WW in Cadillac to find any decent gear.

I heard from an idiot I work with, that there's a BPS coming to Traverse City. Not according to their website lol, although a satellite store would make good money here

Bubba, if you do Falcon or Amistad let me know. I'm about 3 hours from Falcon, although right now I am in Laredo which is about 40 miles from there and 2 1/2 hours from Amistad. I'm also about 1 1/2 hours from another lake which is a gem that doesn't get the attention of Falcon and Amistad called Choke Canyon which is my favorite lake to fish.

That goes for any of you other guys-if you go to any of these you will probably go through San Antonio, so let me know

Love me some Texas BBQ!

Keep in mind tho....I'm relying on the types of sauces lol, but I LOVE the kick that Texas sauce has!

I tried Bulls Eye Memphis, KC and Texas last year, to determine my fav.
The way I listed them, is the way I thought it would rank out. Exact opposite!
