Default kistler

hey guys today i stepped on my friends pole and i gotta get him a new one so i decided to give him my ugly stick and get a new pole. I wanted to get a real good one so i was checkin out the kistlers at this web site... http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/descp...CAST-KHCR.html ... i was wondering what the best size would be for me. i fish in lakes that are about 5 miles long and are real deap, what length and weight would be right? i would like to just get the best now so i dont have to spend more to upgrade... if anyone knows any other poles that would work for me i would appreciate the suggestions, reel suggestions would be appreciated too... all together i would like to spend about 200 dollars for the pole and reel, i know the kistler is more but are there any others good for the money??? thanks

Welcome to the forum!

If you only want to spend $200 for both you aren't going to be able to get a Kistler-they start at $229.

There are a number of good combos out there for a round $200. Bass Pro Shops, Cabelas, Dick's, any of the bigger sporting goods stores will have a good selection. If you can, go someplace and pick up several and see which one feels right to you. For a reel-any of the $70+ will be good reels. For rods, you can't go wrong with a 6-6 medium heavy rod-best all around length/action for bass fishing IMO.

Their grahite series starts at 140 or so. If your talking about a casting combo, I would get what reb said. If its a spinning combo, 6'6 meduim. If I were you I would get a combo, and if its your only combo then I would get a few combos for different situations. This willl save you alot of frustrtation and time with line tying and it will help you catch more fish, lets say if somethings goes for your topwater, and you know it doesnt have a good chance of getting hooked, its a lifesaver to have a rod rigged with a tiki stik or tube ready to throw to that spot.
