Default weekend trip

This weekend my dad and i are going to a near by lake and hope to catch some fish. I was wondering if it is too early to start using fall patterns. I live in central Illinois, this week it has in the mid 60's. This weekend it suposed to be in the mid 60's and their is going to be a full moon. Any info or tips would be great

This lake that we are going to fish has a huge largemouth population for only being 1700 acres. Both of my profile pics are bass that i cought there.

Theres a good chance they will be on fall patterns, and I would throw a spinnerbait.

White or shad colored. I'd bet the water temp up there has cooled down some so head for the creeks with a white spinnerbait or a shad colored shallow running crankbait. Or both.

thanks for the advice. I tride the spinnerbait idea and had no luck with that, and i did not have a crome and blue rattle trap at the time so i threw a bleedind bait one no luck with that either. I think the water is still to warm for fall patterns. We did have luck with 7" power worms in blue and in motor oil. Im going again this friday and will try more fall pattern. Thanks again for the tips.

zooker where were you fishing at? Beaause this lake is shaped like a V and has a powerplant on one side so i fished the other. I aslo do not have a temp reeding on my fish finder, but we did still manage to catch 10 through out the morning and mid afternoon. If the water is still too warm what other things should i try?

I fish a lake exactly like this. Fish the main lake points, and the creeks/riveres that runs into the lake.
