Probably will get you a striper if you try. I have had some nice success on a strip mine lake before with them. Most of the lakes are not deep enough that I fish.

any crankbait will work at a givin speed, depth, time, condition, and water temp...finding this "zone" is what making cranking so diffacult..a dd22 is a good summer or later winter lure..i have several of them i prefure norman's lil n or deep lil n..in homer color or shad..

early spring -febuary for us- they are a striper catching machine..

Yeah, You got to hit the hotspot on the point. Not the whole points gona hold fish and you got to find the brushpile on it or the little area the size of your boat that is where everytime you bring it through it gets wacked.
Try one in a Purple back with whie sides. Good color for me.

I love my DD22's...I have fire tiger and bright chartruse n white...
the chartruse one gets strikes alot in greenish water lakes..give them a try at all depths.

The DD22 is a great bait, it will only run about 17 feet though. To help ease the cranking pressure when fishing the bigger deep running baits point the rod to the bait, so the line goes straight to the reel instead of fighting the crankbait pressure with the rod tip like you would most other lures. I hope this helps, P N J

pnj,
thats a good tip for all beginning anglers and a reminder to others,
always keep the rod tip pointing towards the bait as you work it,
it gives you a much more accurate hookset.
