Loosen the brakes? use lighter line? perhaps oil your bearing if they havent been oiled.

Of course this is just my opinion, but weightless plastics are better for spinning reels. I'm sure some of the diehards will say different, but I don't think there is much comparison, with weightless plastics.

if you use a half decent baitcaster with the brake adjusted correctly,(i go with 10-12lb test, unless i'm flipping into heavy cover)you should have no problems casting a weightless senko or large worm.i had trouble casting 4"worms that way so for those i use spinning gear.

The last half of this year, I have basically not touched my spinning rod because I have discovered the beauty inherit in "ultralight" baitcasters. I've been using a Garcia morrum SX 1600, but I'm sure there are other small baitcasters - the people at RS.com swear by those japaneese shimano scorpions.

I think that 14 pound test mono is just too heavy for throwing light worms on a baitcaster. I use 6 pounds most of the time, but 8 pound trilene xl would work also. You also need a rod that is light enough to load up properly with a weightless worm. Basically the name of the game is specialization.

if i threw weightless worms it is on a spinning reel. but i like to pitch a 1/8oz bullet-pegged-with a bead. and a critter bait.on weightless bait's i use 12 pound test ande. on my pitching reel-bait caster-i use 25 pound izorline. i like pitching and casting in to the nasty stuff.
