Have you noticed?
Ive been wondering why it says "Warning, this product contains lead, a chemical known to the state of California to cause cancer, birth defects or any kind of reproductive harm" on the back of lures.
Does it really? |

Yeah, but only in California where EVERYTHING causes cancer .
Actually, I don't know it it is a carcinogenic, but it is a poison.

I think Californians get such a kick out of being "progressive" that sometimes they come up with lame ideas like that disclaimer, which pretty much states the obvious - don't eat lead.

I bet that it´s easier to get lead poisoning faster by breathing the air for a day in LA than by rubbing a bullet sinker on your hand for the next decade.

Living most of my life in so cal, I can tell you this much, according to the news reports I can remember from decades ago, the courts there have more law suits filed in one month than most of the other states do in a year. It was considered "trendy" in the mid eighties ( in Southern California anyway )to have a law suit pending in the courts against some major manufactuer/business, or food processing company. It was a hot topic on shows like Eye on LA, and other popular gossip shows from that time. Peolple where getting settlements like others got welfare back in those days. The trend slowed after all those lame disclaimers started appearing on everything from fishing poles to hot wheels.

A. Everything causes cancer these days. B. Isn't that Lonestar Staters for Texas. C. Was in S. Cal for 5 years, nothing like the smell of pollution in the morning. Remember driving to LA from the mountains and seeing the yellow smog ring around the city. Kinda like a toxic circular rainbow. Don't worry though, next big earthquake and Cali is falling off the map.

You spelled lead wrong. What a cretin....
I think that if you ate a whole lot of lead, it would get you sick, but I bite sinkers all the time with no problems.

I go along with FLYROD. Lead can cause very serious health problems if it is coming at you at approximately 875 Ft. Per Second.

Lead that fast!!! Cancer is the least of your problems. Zook, good point. The largest # of PETA and tree huggers in the US and they live in one of the most polluted areas around. WOW! Maybe we should let them make all the rules. Think of the size of we would get from TOXIC BASS.
