Default Yum money minnow?

Hey guys! I'm wanting to get some of these, I have a pack of fat monies, but haven't used them yet. And I also hear you guys talking about the stander money money minnow.

So I've got a few questions about them.

So who's had luck with them-Both the fat and stander size?
What colors do you like the best?
You think 30lb Ppro is okay for them?
And how's your favorite way to use them?

Tell me about money minnows!

Thanks!

The original money minnow rocks! Its really limp, fits a hook nice, and has terrific action, not to mention bass KILL it. On the flip side, the fat money minnow is probably the biggest waste of money I have had on a bait since i got the banjo minnow, if not worse. The supplied hook doesn't even begin to be big enough, the action is very muted, if not present at all, it doesn't collapse around the hook, and after a few hours of fishing one without the slightest indication of a bite, I threw the original and caught 5 fish on 6 casts in the same spot. Save yourself the hassle and go with the original.

Thanks,

Ya, I had a feeling that the hook ups my be a little off, so I made a slit in the belly, that way there's less plastic to get in the way of hook set. I got new hooks too, gammies!

I'll go fishing Saturday and try the action.

Good luck, that might help a lot. Run them next to the boat before you throw them, If you have to it may be a good idea to cut some material away from the tail area of the fat bait, that would improve the action I think.

I've got some of the standard ones, but haven't used them yet. But for soft wimbaits like that, I use Owner weighted Beast hooks. I throw them on 14-15lb fluoroclear or fluorocarbon. I wouldn't use braid, because swimbaits are meant to be realistic and the bass are supposed to be able check them out, and personally, I think the braid has the visibility issue.

Thanks guys!

I could try cutting off plastic around the tail to improve the action!

And BB, I'll check out the Owner hooks.
