orange lake is good, not as good as it once was, but its recovering. On the west side of the lake there is a park called Heagy Bearie Park, there was a sinkhole that opened up in the lake near the park. A few years back we had quite a drought. As the water level dropped, much of the water drained through the sinkhole and ended up drying up most of the lake. There were a number of isolated pockets big enough for bass to live, along with plenty going to Lochloosa. AFter the hurricanes a couple years ago orange lake has filled back up. I remember standing at hte dock at heagy bearie and looking out to miles and miles of dry lands filled with weeds, now its orange lake.

I actually know where that lake is. Friends of mine have a lake house in Hawthorne, have seen a few that looked like large dirt holes up until 2 years ago.
