Default Moon Phases

You guys know about how the system of moon phases affects fishing, and which moon phases are the peaks of fish feeding? As an angler, I think that it will be helpful to know just what the heck the moon has to do with fish behavior. If you could explain the moon phase and it's effect on fishing, please do.

thanks,

Default Re: Moon Phases

I have read alot of articles on moon phases in the past. By what I have read, the only moon phase that affect fishing is a full moon. It actually hurts the fishing because it provides alot of light and the fish feed the entire night due to the high light that the full moon offers. It does make a difference during spawning season in a good way. The male bass start to move in on the dark of the moon, while the females move in during the light of the full moon.

Now, moon phases affect sea fishing alot due to the raising and lowering of the tides, and if you are into sea fishing, then the full moon is the time to go for it.

These things are only what I have read from different articles on the net. There could be some members on here that know more about it, or have better experience from it.

In my experience, the moon phase is a handy excuse to have for when you don't catch anything. The moon was wrong. Doesn't matter what it was. It was wrong.

Same thing with the tide. (Yes, there is a LOT of bass fishing where the tide is important.) If I don't catch anything, the tide was wrong.
