Default SIGHT FISHING

It seems that the lakes I've been fishing this year are all sight fishing lakes (shallow with clear water.) I've been pretty successful with the following method but I'd like some tips and suggestions.

I find two patterns: 1. where the fish hold 2. where the smaller males cruise between holding spots. I start with the holding spots using mostly soft plastics. Then when the fish have scattered I fish the "cruising trails."

Is there another method that will result in more strikes?

if there are weeds in the lake you can look for clearings where there is rocks or sand, something lighter colored than the weeds.just watch for a while see if any bass pass over the area, then you'll know they are there.you can also drop a worm or jig, whatever into the clearing, see if something grabs it.a much tougher way is you look at weed lines(edges) to see if you can spot a head or tail of a bass.this has worked for me on occasion, although it does take a while to develop the skill of differentiating between a weed and a bass' tail.

Well, If I am fishing an area that I know holds fish, I try to keep a little distance. Stay back a bit, and run the lures through. More fun that way anyhow. LOL.
