depends where you're at. Down here in Florida, I'd prefer the spring. The bass get somewhat hard to catch during the dog days of summer. Its not that they don't bite, its WHERE they bite. They'll pick the biggest deepest weed bed they can find and sit right in the middle at the bottom. The only time they're not in the thickest slop imaginable is morning, evening, and night. Now if I was a little farther north, I'd prefer the summer.

ill go w/ Rodman on this one. Summers in Fl are way to hot to spend all day on the water. Spring definately is my best time.

Gotta love the springtime bass. Fish moving up to do their thing, and us trying to do our thing.

Summer, weather is more stable. It gets hot here, too...but thats better than 40mph winds and all that good stuff.

The summer by a mile. The entire situation is more stable and predictable, and you get extremly long days - also night fishing becomes an option. Spring might have more upside for big bass, but thats it.

For me, the Summer's the better time. Bass are more active... big bass come out in the morning. Small bass you can catch all day long.. flatheads are out there...

spring fishin's pretty good as well, simply too many rains and cold winds...

Extreme heat and humidity doesnt bother me. But that cold north wind last week was able to get me to quit last week, even though I was having a very productive day.

I can't wait till the doldrums, when I can set my watch to the patterns and weather. Spring is just too manic.

BOTH, as long as there isn't any ice, I'm fishing, and that's the only thing that matters.

I prefer summer fishing, only because it more suits my style around here, in the spring it's easier to catch some of the bigger Bass but it usually means throwing a jerkbait which I hate doing.
