Exclamation LAST DAY for Q1 Big Bass Tourney!

Hey guys! Just wanted to remind you that today is the last day of the 1st Quarter Big Bass Tournament.

We have had some nice Largemouth Weigh-In but no one has posted a smallmouth for the tourney. So it's easy pickin's right now.

If no one weighs in a smallie by midnight, then the first member to weigh in any smallie starting tomorrow gets the win! We have some great prizes up for grabs, so get out there and get fishin!

Default Hey Kevin

Hey Kevin,
Is the smallmouth catagory have a minimum of 12 or 14 inches?
We have streams around here that has smallies, for the amount of prizes given , I may go for it...has the minimum size ever been documented? thanks

There are no size requirements or minimums for the tournaments, since they are all catch & release.

Any size largemouth or smallmouth is acceptable for weigh-in.

Anyone for extending this smallie tournament through the weekend for the smallie category??

Default Got A Smallmouth Today

Hope this counts for the tourney, I went wading the 7-mile creek today at noon till 3, and after about 4 cheek chubs I got a 12 inch smallmouth on a punkin seed 2 inch power grub. My first picture had the tape next to it, but ya cant read the tape, plus I cut off the bottom of the tape n tail. I was standing in about 2 feet of water fishing some rapids that fed into a hole about 4 feet. I ran into about 6 holes from the waterworks parks to the new lexington bridge, probably about a mile there an mile back.
The smallie hit right in the channel and came at me really fast, and gave me a nice fight.
I regretted using a 6-6 pole , man I hung up on every f/n limb around , plus my grub hung on many rocks..
Anyways, trying to get the picture of the tape on the fish for the third time my right foot slipped in some "slicker than snot" red clay, and down I went, my right foot went forward and the left leg went behind me, the camera didn't get wet but I figured there was no way of getting a pic of the tape on there.
So anyways if its big enough and you can pretty much judge its a 12 inch dinker, but I hope it qualifies me for the smallie part of the tourney that kevin mentions above.
The left thigh has a pulled muscle, but it did feel great to GET OUT.
I ran into dennys drummer buddy fishng for chubs for his catfish habit, right after the rain.

thats what i need next time, plus I am going to other streams, with deeper holes. I used some kind of gold hook jig today that bent easy when I got snagged, I'd pull free and then rebend the hook. Caught two other smallmouths but they were like 6 inches lol..its fun tho, playing the current and letting the bait flow with it.

Dang! I forgot about the smallie category. I got a 2-1 on a digital scale but forgot to measure it. Did get a picture, though .

Ok let me get this right....I have to post a pic with a tape measure or something to help define the size? What if you fish outa a kickboat and and dont have any where to lay a tape? Im just wondering cause I know I have some decent fish I could enter.....I got a 3+ lbs smallie that could go

I think angler needs to define when his 6 hour tourney is and then show the results, rather than picking a nice fish to weigh in from any random day of fishing.
Other than that, the picture is supposed to have a length and girth measurement, plus we are now in the 2nd quarter of tourneys.....
good luck to ya! it does become cumbersome to carry all the cameras and tapes, as Denny and I can attest to in a paddle boat lol..or row boat

Ok now I get it. I was little confused on format. Thanks JB. Now if we could have this same format only make it a BIG fish contest.....I might have a chance.

We have a big bass contest and also a 6 hour tourney, just state when you're going out and then post your results, the rules are in the forums,
its been a nice friendly addition to the forum, plus gets guys swapping prizes and "hi-5's"
I think some hick from ohio came up with the tourny idea, but not sure
