Default Yo-Zuri Hybrid?

nd To my knowledge Yo-Zuri Hybrid is a fluorocarbon coated copolymer which would make it denser thus more sensitive than a comperable line CXX -- which doesn't not contain fluorocarbon.

I've really enjoyed CXX, and like how tough and low stretch it is, and as far as I know Hybrid is similar to it (cxx) that way. The low stretch and toughness coupled with the density makes it seem like it would make a more sensitive and all around better bottom contact line than CXX.

What are you two pennies?

Tried it but Floroclear is my go-to line for everything but top water and braid applications.

Never used the CXX, but I've used the YZH for several years now. Other than braid on my spinning reels and a couple other baitcasters, it's the only line I use. If line memory is a big issue the YZH Ultra Soft is an option (less memory) and I have used it on spinning gear, while it was pretty good - I think braid is better. It's strong with really good sensitivity and as I don't like F/c (except as a leader) it meets my needs.

I use mostly 10# & 12# on my reaction style baits. When you get to 15# and heavier the memory and stiffness issues start to get to be more difficult to deal with. I do go up to 15# on a couple rods when fishing the Potomac, because of all the crap in the water and the snakeheads, but just about everywhere else the two lighter lines are sufficient.

Not a coated but, bonded. Big difference. I use it exclusively. I hooked a skate on 6# ultra soft and had to purposely break off so we could move on. I stick with 12# for monving baits and 15# on jigs.

Thanks for pointing that out! As a chemistry student, I'm interested to see the molecular structure of both the Fluorocarbon and Nylon they use to see how they bond!

Company secret I'm sure!

Just order a 275 yard spool from tacklewarehouse yesterday.... Can't wait to try the stuff out!

Bassboss, chemistry major hay, I worked in a chemical plant for 23 years. We distilled MMA to make plastic and plastic additives. Monomers always trying to turn into polymers, they make heat and pressure and then go boom. Good luck with the chemistry career.

I've used it an am not a fan. I used the US for about half a season. It was definitely tough with low stretch. But I found it to not be very sensitive though, and it was quite stiff and unmanageable... I probably wouldn't use it again.

I use it exclusively on bait casters and spinning gear. It is very strong compared to it's small diameter, I think six pound test breaks at around eleven and a half pounds. I don't have an issue with abrasion and I fish a lot of jigs with it. I really don't have a problem with it being too stiff or having too much memory. I haven't compared it to every line on the market. But after ten years or so of fishing with it I feel like I am using the best line available and I am happy with that.

I used to buy it whenever Wal-mart had it on sale. I like it. Never any issues with it.
