Default Stern Trim Switch Help

Need some help.
On my other boat I installed a stern trim switch. But I bought another boat and had the motor taken off and added to the new boat. Now I can't remember how I had it hooked up.
When trying to hook it up I can get the motor to go up but not down.
Coming of the trim pump there is a green ,blue, and red wire.
The wires that go to my motor(outboard) have green and blue tied together and a purple wire by itself.

I've tried hooking both wires off switch to the green blue that are tied together. Just goes up.
I've also spliced into the individual green and blue wire and hooked each wire off switch to each one and nothing.
I also hooked up the middle connector off the trim switch to the battery for power.

So what am I doing wrong.
And how would you hook it up?

Also the trim switch on controls work fine the way its hooked up.

I have a '76 1150 Mercury with the 4 hose tilt and trim unit.
