well guys, i went ahead and bought the boat about a month ago, and so far, its been worth every dollar, the motor starts on the first try everytime, ive taken it out 5 times and i couldnt bee happier, besides getting a new prop, its all i need in a boat, runs, floats, and gets me to where the fish may be, haha, i just broke the new boat, no fish in the boat jinx yesterday, so maybe the fishing will pick up too!!!!!

Some things to be aware as I purchased a 1990 tracker and found these things out. They are sort of specific to how the boat was maintained. Check out your wire harnesses under the console, if they werent sprayed with anykind of protectant chances are the casings are cracked and corrosion could set in, also take a look at the fuse box, mine was in decent shape, but one was so rusted I couldnt get the fuse out, good thing its still a good fuse.

I also had some rivets that looked a little worrisome, so I scuffed them up with a wire brush and hit them with some 3m 5200, then some aluminum paint, looks good and I'm not worried about them anymore.

I also found that the idle lever on the throttle box had a very brittle plastic hook on it to keep it down. I ended up snapping this off...it only makes it a pita when I go into reverse I have to manually push the idle arm down.

Other than a few small things like that, I've been very happy with it. Congrats on your purchase, I hope it brings you mass fish.

This boat is backwards ....

The numbers give it away...

If the gauges do not work it may be a non installed motor.

I just sold a buddies on ebay last week for 2500, was trying to get 2900 out of it.
Same boat, except his had a 50 horse and was an 84, that was in tip top condition, with a custum made tarp on it.
