Default Used Tracker Pro Team 2003 - need some advice

Looking into getting a 2003 Tracker 165 pro team boat with a 50 mercury upgrade. The two things wrong with it are torn seats and the depth finder isn't working (I think it needs a transducer). They are asking $4000 for the boat. Just wanted to get some opinions before I pull the trigger. Thanks for any input,
Dustin

I think that an 03 with an 50hp merc for 4000 sounds kinda cheep so I would say to take it for an spin before you buy it.

that sounds like a good deal to me. I've got the same boat, just from 1999 with a 25 hp merc and it's been great to me. Thusfar, it has proven to be indestructable, even after drilling numerous rocks and stumps, and it gets me from point A to B. The seats probably wouldnt be very expensive to re-upholster with some cheap material and the basic depthfinders arent much more than $100. def take it for a test drive though. good luck!

Thanks for the advice. I think its a pretty good deal and should be a good boat to start out with. The boat was a repo so I don't think he has much money in it. He needs the money to fix an engine problem on another boat. I am gonna test drive the boat tomorrow before I buy it. Thanks again,
Dustin

Be sure and run a compression test on the cylinders. If the engine doesn't have many hours, you should get a close to spec test. Sounds pretty good for 4 grand, but buyer beware. You don't want a $4000 paperweight.
