Default 1966 Johnson Sea Horse 3 HP

My dad bought at an auction a 1966 Johnson Sea Horse 3 hp outboard for $120.00 , it has all the paperwork with it ( operation manual , parts guide , and a 3 year warrany paper ). He bought it thinking I would want it. I am considering buying it because the lake I fish regulary has a 10hp limit and I have a 25Hp. Is it worth $120 ? I pretty much stuck with it anyway , since he bought it thinking I would repay him.

Buddy.....in my opion only here. BUY IT! If not for your boat, buy it to hang on the wall. I would if i could. As a matter of fact, IF i had the money, i would buy it from your dad.

You know , I actually thought about that. It looks like it was used a handful of times , great paint , has a small dent in the tank. I think I can have the dent removed with a paintless dent repair guy we have here in town. Other than that it would look good in my fishing room !

Those old motors have a great nostalgic feel to them. It kinda sounds like you are locked in, but that sounds like a very reasonable, even a good, price. You have to decide if that is a collectable motor, or if you are going to try and fish with it. Old motors can be fun to work on, not that it sounds like it needs much.

Dude....that sounds like a great conversation piece for a Man Cave. Those old motors were beautiful too, in their own way. Very mechanical looking instead of a sleek plastic cowling.
