Default Adding a second battery.

Alright guys, we've moved our one battery way back in it's compartment and can just squeeze another one in there. we're thinking about going with a size 29 or 31 for the troller. Any suggestions on a good brand? (don't say optima, way out of our budget). We'd also like to keep the weight to a minimum.

Also, After testing wires for about a half an our, we finally found out what wires go to what. The front Fish finders and the TM are hooked together. Is this alright? I know some guys said that it'll interfere w/ the ff, but it's a cheap little thing. I can hardly read the screen, its so messed up, and I only use it for depth. Do you think we should separate them and run the ff back to the batter w/ some new wires?

Thanks,

BB

How many wires go up front?it was wired 12 volt of course .I would run 2-12volt wires up to the front You can change em to 24 volts at the TM plug. that way you don't have to worry about burning anything else out in the fouture by hitting a 24 volt wire.
Just my$.02
As far as batteries I alway run cheap series 27 batteries and change em every 3 years even if they still work.

A cheaper battery which i use is Duracell marine battery. It works great. I have the deep cycle on my 12volt 50lb. thrust trolling motor and i was out the other day with 3 people on the boat, a lot of extra weight, for 8 or 9 hours and it still had a lot of juice left. Its about 63 dollars around here.

run you ff off the cranker battery.. there is only one time that the cranker has a large draw and that is when ya start the moter..with the troller it has a large draw EVERY time you hit the switch..

a wallmart never start eerrr i mean ever start is cheap but i would spend $15 more and get an interstate..

Is that for a troller battery or cranker? We're using the one we've got as the cranker since it's too small to use as the troller.

Has anyone ever heard of or used Crown batteries? I guess they're like an industrial battery. They guy at their store said that their series 27 should round a normal TM for 6-8 hours.

what do you guys think?

Ok, I'm bored and I'm gonna go hook up the battery, but one question.

The curcuit breaker or fuse or whatever for the troller battery, does that go on the positive or negative side of the battery?

Thanks,

BB
