Not to far from the truth as in being close, back in the 80s on a south eastern ohio farm,I watched my neighbor for 4 hrs covering a hill side walking or making alternate paths about 20 ft apart across the hill between us maybe 20 acres in size.2 min after he left and after topping the hill to go home as near dusk,2 deer stood up and walked the other direction.
After awhile one just about has to step on one,and no I didnt shoot either one, just watched through my binoculars after spotting with eye. Back then used an old 50 cal blackpowder iron sights while 250-300 yards was within its capability say on a stand not on an ohio hillside with trees with my hands and eyes anyway. Still have it and an original 12 ga made in london england around 1860,havnt shot them in a bit,so guess they are still safe at least from me. |
