Default Rage tail toads or sizmic toads

I want to get some of those toad baits for thick weedbeds. I was wondering if I should get the strike king rage toads or the sizzmic ( unsure of spelling ) toads.
I know that therage toads cost more so which is a better value?

I absolutely love the rage toads! I seem to have them tear fairly quickly but their action is unbeatable for topwater!

Rage tail out of the two you mentioned. Also, give the Horny Toad a shot.

Is there room in your budget or tackle bag for just one toad? I haven't used the Rage Tail but have used the Sizmic and it has accounted for my biggest bass. I've also used Ribbits and my partner uses Horny Toads and over the long run we haven't been able to see much of a difference among the three in their ability to draw strikes. Undoubtedly, regardless of brand, things moving on the suface making a disturbance hold a high appeal for bass. I don't think you can go wrong with whatever you choose.

Some other factors I have considered are the lure's resistance to rolling over and the overall thickness of the bait. As far as the latter, I have avoided some brands because they are thicker than I care to use, meaning I probably wouldn't land as many strikes without using bigger hooks and/or stronger line. Another factor is that the Sizmic, although it tends to roll, is softer plastic than some other brands and may offer a better catch-to-strike ratio because of that softness.

This type of bait is a wonderful addition to an arsenal when you want to fish topwater and the vegetation won't allow use of treble hooks.

Exactly what I was gonna say. The rage tails get my vote for moving a lot of water, but if you want a quieter bait, you can beat the horny toads. Also, I rarely use an EWG hook any more. I use a 5/0 Owner twist-lock hook.

Rage toads for sure! Best frog I've ever used just like a buzzbait!

X2 what BB said. Owner twist lock 4/0 or 5/0 holding together a Zoom Horny Toad.
I was fishin' the green slime algae the other night, and a hawg crushed my lure, I set the hook when I felt him on there and missed. When I looked at my Horny Toad, he'd been amputated from the knees down. I quickly rigged up another, and nailed 'em, about a 3 LBer. The point of my story is that those Owner twist locks really hold your lure in place. No sliding down the shank of an EWG hook.

I bought some of the Gammy double frog hooks the other day. But I haven't got a chance to try them out yet. Anyone use them yet? I have done better on the Zoom horny toads myself.

You don't need a keeper hook, but you'll extend the life of your bait with one. With a regular offset hook you might find that these are one-fish baits. I use the Mustad Ultra Point.

I use the rage tails. They are awesome, move tons of water. Only problem is they get torn up so fast. So recently I got a scum frog bigfoot. It isn't a soft plastic like the rage tail but it also kicks up a good amount of water and it a little more durable. I would check them out.
