That's the kind of line I use. 2 questions: What knot are you using, and are you wetting the knot when you are tightening it up?

When you tighten up a knot on mono without wetting it friction heats up and weakens the line at the knot.

you mentioned clear water in your other post, so I'm assuming you're wanting something for clear water as well, I'd recomend a flurocarbon line, I use the Berkly flurocarbon in 8 and 12 test. Some will recomend a higher pound test but since you're in clear water, when the bite dies and you want to throw smaller lures, those smaller lures won't go to far on those big lines. If you want to say the hell with visibility and want to throw it a country mile and still have strength, try the power pro, 20lbs test has a 6 pound diameter which = greater casting distance.

also I'd recomend the palomar knot, if you look at how it is tied, the lure becomes self contained in the line, when tied properly, which is easy to do, it is physically impossible for the line to become untied.

Check out the Palomar knot, Jim-I put a link to it in your knot question. Never had one fail, and have had the clinch knot fail on more than one occasion.
