Default What is the best knot for braid, palomar?

I'm using power pro. My palomar knot was broken when I was landing a pike. This let me remember somebody said that some knots don't work well on braid. Any way, What is the best fishing knot for BRAID? And what is the best snap swivel when using braid? Thanks.

I've always used palomar on braid and never had it fail. Are you sure the knot failed landing the pike or did they possibly cut the line, they are toothy critters.

It could possibly been the way you tied the Palomar knot that caused it to fail. When you tie a Palomar, be sure to bring the loop over the lure and then ABOVE the knot so that it pulls down against the top of the knot. Make sure to wet the knot so that it pulls down completely and pull ONLY on the TAG END of the line to tighten.

Yes, That's what I was thinking, it really could be, but hard to tell. A guy suggested me to use snop swivel even fishing plastic ( wackky worm ) to avoid pike cut the line. I'm not too sure. Any way, what is your recommendation of snap swivel? Thanks.

Jackl, Thanks. I think I did the right things, however, I didn't wet my line. That could cause the problem?

If it was mono or flouro not wetting the line will make a difference, but I've never wet Powerpro and never had the Palomar fail. I'd guess it was the toothy critter that did the damage.

Never have a knot failure using a uni-knot with twice-through-the eye line end; never wet it. Always check for frays especially if a pike bites it or you're casting rocks!
