Default Fuel line between usage?

My boat has an outboard motor and I was curious if it is better to disconnect the fuel line and bleed the outboard dry after each trip out or will it hurt anything to merely shut it off, trailer it home and leave the line connected between uses during the season?

I asked the same question to an Evinrude mechanic(this year).and he replied what Zook said "How long between trips" He told me if you take it out at least once a month you should be fine leaving the line hooked up.
I used to disconnect the gas line,Hook up the motor flush (dog ears) ,and flush the motor till the carb. was out of gas,and the motor stalled. He told me that it was not neccasary to flush the motor in fresh water,so now I leave the gas line hooked up all the time,Makes it alot more easier, hook up and go.

Oh yeah, I heard also it could be bad to bleed it out everytime, that it could dry out the gaskets. How true it is Im not sure.
