Default Chartreuse/White...

What does this color "Chartreuse/White" on buzzbaits/spinnerbiats imitate?

Probably a baitfish or a bluegill. The white resembles the baitfish and if you look at bluegill there are both chartreuse and blue in the coloring.

All I know is they work.

it represents visibility, most importantly, IMO. Second, its just like Reb said..its colors that appear on baitfish like bluegill.

Lures don't have to be imitative in order to draw strikes. I submit as evidence the fact that untold millions of fish are caught on every conceivable type, style, shape, action and color of lure.

Kevin VanDam once said that in lower visibility situations that bass will see chartreuse as white from below the bait. It's just what I read. Not saying that it's a fact...overall importance like stated earlier is visibility.
