Default Lowrance Question for Todd (or others)

I have an LMS-520 and an HDS-5, and figured out how to pull the waypoints off the 520 and load on the 5, but how do I dumb down the waypoints on the 5 to put on the 520? Can this even be done? They are not linked together (yet).

Thanks!

Andy

Yes, but first thing to note is that there are 3 versions of .usr files (ver 2, 3 and 4). By default, your 520 saves in version 3 and cannot handle version 4. Your HDS saves in version 4 by default, and can handle versions 2 and 3. Your 520 cannot import version 4 files.

So, on the HDS, you go to Pages, Utilities Page, Files, then Waypoints, Routes, Trails. Then you should be able to follow the prompts to save your file to an SD card. Just be sure here to select version 3 instead of version 4.
