Default What to start off with Saturday morning?

I am fishing in a small tournament on Saturday morning that is being held by my church. It is on Lake Robinson which is located next to a progress energy plant. I have four or five rods and wonder what you guys think would be good lures to start with. The water is fairly clear and warm right now and I have been catching bass at nearby ponds all month. Thanks

Warm, clear, possible post spawn, I agree, topwater in a natural color. I would throw a baby bass spook, its my fav. in that type of situation.

A natural colored crank, clear spook, t-rigged culprit-watermellon, and a jig with craw trailer if there is craws in the area. That would be my starting baits anyway. Good luck man.

At really depends on the cover. Heavy grass mats, lilly pads, or just heavy weeds! If it 's really weeds, than I would go with a spro frog, or what ever you favorite hollow frog is. I would use this one first rather than a buzz frog because I think the if the bass are inactive, going with the buzz frog fist may turn them off.... it more settle. if that don not work then Go with a buzz frog, they may prefer that over the buzz frog over the hollow!

If you're around brush, or reed lines, or scattered reeds, than I would try a buzz bait! Again, I would first try something more quite so the bass don't get turned off! Just go top water what ever the case!

Later in the day I would go with a spinnerbait!

spinnerbait or a pop-r would be my first 2 choices.

I would be throwing a buzzbait early then going to a spinnerbait mid morning.

well the tournament day was a big bust for me i was only going out in my 14 foot jon boat with a ten horsepower outboard since it was not a big tourney. put my boat in the water and found out it had sprung a small leak at the back. a friend of mine fishing that day had a patch kit in his truck he lent me and i patched it and got back in the water but i lost 2 hours out of four we were fishing and had only one hit on a fluke and a few nibbles at some crickets i was throwing as well ugh
