Default Belly up bass ?

By now, you've all seen the belly up TV shots of bass on the tournament scales. How many of you out there believe that this is good for fishing, and should be permitted to continue ?

Sure, there is SOME mortality in tournaments, but the number of fish that die, per fisherman, is far, far less than those killed by sloppy handling on the part of non-pros. Bankfishermen, "meat hunters", slobs, etc, kill FAR more bass.
And, of course they are not all neat and upright in the official weighing box...they're lying on their side, only momentarily, before being put into treated water preparatory to being released.

Jim,
I've caught fish that ended up out of the water a little too long for one reason or another. One of those in particular......a 10 lbs bass.......kept going belly up while trying to revive her (pushing back and forth to get water over the gills) for 45 minutes. After I gave up she still turned belly up. A week later I came back looking for the fish floating in the weeds........although it turned out, I caught her at the same spot I caught her the first time. Just cause a fish is belly up doesn't mean its dead.

Yeah, but if there's a cute sheep in reach, all bets are off.
