Default Been Working on my Floating Bug

I took a Kinami Baits Nories Bug and a white and orange styrofome bobber and modified them in a way to give the appearance of a BIG BUG THAT FLOATS AND CAN BE CASTED! If you haven't seen a Nories Bug before, it has a very slim senko (after all kinami is owned by yamamoto) type mid section, yet has two very long and slim antenae along with what appear to be a resemblance of a crawfish pincher coming out the head of the body, and at the tail end of the very slim sinko type body were stubby legs with lotsa action. I pulled the crawfish pincher paddle things off to help bouancy and slim down the profile to allow it to resemble a bug. I then cut slits into the body of the bait and inserted cut pieces of the aforementioned bobber. I put two somewhat small pieces of the styrofoam bobber into the slits and melted them in place. The result, a bait that is floating and should be able to cast 50 feet if not more on the right tackle. This would have done the trick on that fish that's been taunting me. Hopefully he's still there nextime I go. I'll take pics of the end product soon.

thanks for posting that pic. Â*I used a black/gold one and also have a pack of chartruse/white to do this too as well. Â*You can see the paddle/pincher in those pictures that I had to remove. Â*I then glued most of the styrofoam on the end where the stuby legs are so that the top of the body appears to have its head out of the water while the tail end and the antenae dangle down a little into teh water, similar to some insects swimming. Â*

I wonder if they make that in a brown and copper color, that resembles a Culprit earthworm, that used to be my fav pond rubber worm till all the locals caught on lol
I think after that I hit a huge blue flake and red shad craze , followed by the black shad craze..
Fishing is so addicting, esp when the wife is barkin'
Or the roof needs patchin'
Or the lawn needs mowin'
LMAO ;D

the black/gold color is the closest you'll find to brown and cooper.

oh don't worry, I didn't post that picture but I still plan on posting a picture of my creation just as soon as I get a picture snapped and loaded onto my laptop. Â*Be patient, I won't forget. Â*I'm hoping the rain clears up here by tomorrow morning so I can get a picture of this bug in a BIG HAWGS MOUTH! Â*I just don't want to post a poser pic of this bait, would rather show it off in an action shot.

I'm using cut pieces from a small white styrofoam bobber with orange strip around it. You could use a cork bobber too or any other very bouant material as you'll want to use the smallest piece possible to support the entire weight of the lure and hook.
