Default Keeping boat outside in the cold??

So far this winter the weather where I live in TN has not gotten down much below freezing..however, thursday night the forcast is 5 degrees!

I keep the boat plugged up to keep a charge on the batteries, but I am still worried about them when it is that cold! Does it affect their life or anything?

I don't have the luxury of keeping the boat in a garage, and any day midwinter that hits 50 or above im taking it out on the water anyway. I do tilt the motor down to drain all water while it is sitting, and it is covered of course...

Should I be worrying about the batteries?

I don't think it will hurt the batteries at all, but I would be worried about any water such as in the water pressure gauge and it's hose. I know some guys disconnect it and blow the hose out with air.

Good point Bender.

Gizzardshad,
Just as Bender said, your batteries should be fine as long as they are properly maintained. Something else to keep in mind seeing that you also store yours outdoors, is to occasionally check on your batt. charger's power source(120V) such as your extension cords, outdoor plug-ins and your electrical breakers, on my boat the cord got wet and ended up tripping one of my breakers without me knowing about it, its no big deal as long as you keep watch of it and btw seeing that your new, I would like to welcome you to the Boards.
