I'm in. I nominate someone to come up with a clear set of rules and qualifiers. Mallen this was your idea...you wanna do it? I have no problem sending $5 worth of hand pours to the SMB winner even though a lot of us guys in the south DNQ. In fact I've never seen a smallmouth except on tv

ps I'm wide open to side bets from anybody.

I'd still rather have just bragging rights. Otherwise I'm not gonna enter... I don't have a digital scale, and if I caught a fish that was 1oz from the state record.. there'd be no way for me to prove it.

I'm in. Sounds like fun to me. Adds a little something extra to eveery day out on the water and gives you a reason to work it on slow days. Probably make us all better fisherman.

I really have no issue if someone on the board destroys some 12lber or some huge smallie or something to just include them if they destroy us, haha. And just like kenneth, I have never caught a smallie or even seen one in person. There are some in the state, but a good distance from me.

You know I'm willing to loose in just about any contest.
So once you folks figure out the rules, you know I'm probably gonna have too.
I have an idea. One of you GREAT minds should be able to figure out a handicap system (like bowling and golf) only based on the states record fish. Once designed should make things alot simplier and everyone would be able to really be on the same page.
I'm out of BREWER Spoons but I'm sure I'll find something!

Ok, always wanted to catch one of those brown bass.

Someone probably needs to start a official thread with the debate of rules, then get participants.

Yeah, serious brainfart there on my part. The bass seasons were a problem in the one I was in because it ran from March 1st-May 31st I believe so the northern guys were really limited.

Excellent query T5 well done..........I would have no problem counting your fish even if you lived on Castaic! I somehow get the feeling that this whole contest thing is going to peter out anyway though. Too bad I was really looking forward to smashing and dashing everyones hopes and dreams of a fat sack of goodys by Mid-March at the latest......in all possible humility off course....I didn't want to just bust up in here right when I joined at let yall know what a fantastic fisherman I really am....I think I should start coloring all my posts green

1984 RULED for me! I was 28 that year..my skin was so tight I couldn't even blink! What gave it away? The glasses? The pork chops? The hand made Captains seat? The flasher in the background?

all the above ken..all the above. have oyu caught ANYTHING near that since though? i think i am pretty safe against you buddy. hahahahaha!!!!

telephoning......take an ol crank style telephone, some bare copper wire. put wire in the lake, attach wire to crank phone. turn handle. watch the fish come to the top....pick the ones you want. the phone casues an electrical current which knocks out the fish and they float up. only for a short time though. they'll wake up sometimes as oyu are netting them. lol!!
