If you havnt tried try Stren superbraid try it. I tried and dont use anything else anymore. If you backlash it is real easy to fix. The only problem I have found with it is bouyant.

yea but what does that have to do with spinning gear? you can also break a baitcasting rod with braid...

It has something to do with the pressure of the guides on the lower part of a spinning rod. I have already admitted that I was probably wrong. I AM WRONG, so no more questions need to be asked. I will try barid on one of my spinning setups (not my nicest one first), and if it breaks I'll be mad, if it doesn't I'll be happy.lol

i use 15lb trilene big game on baitcasting and 8lb and 10lb trilene xl for spinning. i should try some braid or flouro, but like crossing the basses' eyes with mono! i will probably try 50lb spider wire ,the original, since i can get it for $3 at a local store.

that would be the rod then, not the reel. I've broken some of my lighter rods using braid, but my medium and heavy rods with spinning reels hold up fine.

Tried it, and thought is was poor at casting distances. I'll stick with my Powerpro

If the shad have just spawned, you can almost forget about catching a bass. They are so full of bait that they don't need to chase a lure.
Take this from experience, our next tournament is on a lake with alot of shad appx. 1" long. They are everywhere. Under the boat, on the bottum in 20' of water. Granted bass can be caught where there is a less abundance of shad.
That sounds odd but in these cases, thats all "I" can do to catch bass.
Normally they spawn in different times of year, but this year is one of those different years. Granted I'm fishing a lake, but not all lakes have the same dilemmas. Some may have shad spawning whereas others may not.
