Fish finder on a budget
anyone know of a quality fish finder for a jboat that's pretty good quality and resonably priced? thanks

I've been looking for the same thing for my jonboat. I think I'm going to buy the Hummingbird 570. It's got a 5 inch screen, 2000 watts, dual beam transducer, 640V X 320H, and only costs $199.99. But I thhink pretty much everyone has it on sale now for $189.00. For a hundred dollars more, you can get the model 728 which is about the same thing but high def and GPS capable.

Hey, that's not too far from the truth! The guy who won the BFL tournaments up on Burt/Mullett Lakes in Michigan the past couple years has been using something like a big orange traffic cone to see beds. This blocks out the light and lets you see way down into the water. I think most of his beds were 8-12'+. It must work since the past 2 years he's been doing it he has had over 27 pounds for five smallies each time.

i dont know about your walmart but hummingbird switched there series over from like 565 to 570 or something like that. But i bought two 565 hummingbirds originally 199 a piece for 89 dollars a piece. Just check it out
