Default braided line for casting

any suggestions for a good braided line for a bait casting outfit. (dad had fire line spooled on his an it was terable for digging in on the backing and then backlashing when you went to cast.)

Power Pro, Power Pro, or Power Pro. Those are my favorite 3.

Yep. All I use. Any braid will dig in on occasion-had it happen to me today as a matter of fact. Pulled out a little more line, wound it back on and kept throwing. No biggie. I used to use Spiderwire, switched to PowerPro on the recommendation of a buddy and have not regretted it for a minute.

Power Pro is excellant. I have started to try P-lines braid which is Spectra IV which I am really beginning to like. I mainly use P-line for all my reels and have found that there mono and floro is topnotch to me. I cant find a better, tougher mono or floro out there for the water that I fish. The Spectra is unbeleivable for strength and so far the abraision factor is quite surprising.

also if you use a diameter equal to a mono line it cuts down on digging in issues.on a baitcaster i would use at least 12/50 power pro.

How much sensitivity difference is there between the 6lb/30lb Power Pro vice the 12lb/50lb Power Pro? I really like the sensitivity of the 30lb, but I have been having "digging" problems with it.

i would say ther is no difference in sensativity between 6/30 or 12/50.all the power pro lines have close to 0 stretch which means they are all equal.digging in can be aggravted by pulling against a locked drag when you are stuck.if this happens wrap the line around a dowel and yank so it doesn't digg into the spool.some reels lay the line better than others which helps prevent digging.thicker braid also diggs less than thinner braid.i hav no digging issues with 12/50 and pflueger trion round reels.

Yep, Power Pro is the best braid by far. No difference in sensitivity for different line weights. I can see it digging in on a reel, but sometimes that varies from reel design to reel design. I guess it depends on how much ground the levelwind covers by each revolution of the spool.

Default Power Pro

After almost as many years bass fishing as JackL has been complaining, I'm very confident in Power Pro. (of course that's using it with a 6" Culprit in Florida waters) I'd expected one of the bigger makers to surpass it, but I haven't seen that happen yet.
